Hi there! I'm Sydney

I'm currently an undergraduate student at NYU Stern School of Business, concentrating in marketing and computing & data science and minoring in psychology. I am passionate about social impact and sustainability, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship. I strongly believe that business can and should be used to make the world better.

The desire to learn new things and build meaningful relationships with people are what drive me. Although I’m not sure exactly what industry I see myself in for the next 10 years, I know that I want to use my skills to have real, positive impact on others and the world.

Interests and Hobbies

Two of my biggest hobbies are cooking and baking. Check out the gallery on the right for some of my homemade creations. I love food because it has the power to inspire joy and to bring people together!

I enjoy rock climbing, guitar, the outdoors, and travelling. I was also a puppy raiser for the Guide Dog Foundation.

Why business?

Going into university, I thought I would be a pre-med student. However, something about NYU Stern’s unique qualities piqued my attention - especially its New York City location and flexible study abroad opportunities.

When I got in, I thought that I would still follow the pre-med track while pursuing my B.S in business. However, I realized that what drew me to medicine in the first place wasn’t medicine itself - it was the chance to use my skills to help people. One of my mentors (with a background in finance, who now works in product management) once told me that once you fall in love with the problem, any path you use to solve it will be interesting for you.

I believe my true passion lies in helping others. Now the question is how I can marry it with business: whether through helping businesses manage products that solve real problems, helping nonprofits as a social impact consultant, or analyzing data to identify problems and how to solve them.
